R is for Rio de Janeiro’s Royal Portuguese Reading Room

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday. We’re back to the A to Z Challenge and entering the fourth week of April. The challenge is nearing its end, and we’ve almost completed the alphabet.

We’re now on the letter R, which brings us to a fabulous library located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It’s the Royal Portuguese Reading Room, or in Portuguese this library’s called the Real Gabinete Português de Leitura.

The Reading Room contains over 350,000 volumes and is the largest library of Portuguese literature that exists outside of Portugal.
