H is for Hungary’s National Széchényi Library

Wednesday is here again. Today we’re visiting the National Széchényi Library in Budapest, Hungary. In Hungarian it’s called the Országos Széchényi Könyvtár, or OSZK for short.

The library contains 8 million items of which 2.5 million are books. There are also video and audio recordings, electronic documents, and maps.

The library currently presides in the Buda Castle Palace, which is the magnificent building you’ll see below. The castle is also a World Heritage Site. How amazing is that?
